The Reedsville Volunteer Fire Company, as it operates today was established in 1941. Although there was a fire company in the town prior to this date, information has been hard to find.
The Reedsville Fire Company provides first alarm services to Brown Township, located in Mifflin County Pennsylvania. Brown Township covers 33.2 square miles with a population of approximately 4,000 residents. We provide, Engine, Tanker, Rescue, and Brush services to Brown Township as well as mutual aid to surrounding townships.
The Rescue company responds on first alarm Vehicle Accidents to Milroy, Yeagertown, and Burnham. This total distance is approximately 237 square miles of roadway.
The Engine company responds on first alarm fires in Milroy and Belleville as well as mutual aid throughout Mifflin County.
The Tanker company responds to the same areas as the Engine company as well as mutual aid to Mifflin County, Juniata County, Huntingdon County, and occasionally Centre County.
Currently, the fire company is located in downtown Reedsville along North Main Street. The company is however in the process of designing a new facility to better handle growing call volume and increase in population. The new facility will be located along State Route 655 South.
